Controlling your personal information

In France, personal data are protected under French law no. 78-87 of 6 January 1978, French law no. 2004-801 of 6 August 2004, article L. 226-13 of the French Penal Code, and Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995.

If you use the SEMAE website, the following information may be collected: the URLs of any intermediary websites that directed you to the SEMAE website, your internet provider, and your IP address.

SEMAE will never collect any personal data on users, except in cases where a user provides them as part of registering for certain website services. Users will be fully aware that they are providing such data since they will be asked to enter it themselves. At that time, the site will inform the user which information is mandatory.

In accordance with French law no. 78-17 of 6 January 1978 on informatics, electronic files, and freedom (article 38 and those following), all users have the right to access, rectify, and dispute any personal data that has been collected—they must make the request by sending a email to delegue_protection_donnees@semae.fr. This email must include a copy of a photo ID signed by the user as well as a return address to which a response can be sent.

No personal information collected from users of this website will be published without the user’s knowledge, nor will it be, in any way, shape, or form, exchanged with, transferred to, given to, or sold to a third party.

In accordance with current French law, the website is exempt from registering with the CNIL.

SEMAE’s databases are protected under the French law of 1 July 1998 implementing the Directive 96/9 of 11 March 1996 concerning the legal protection of databases.


Legal jurisdiction for disputes

Your use of www.semae.fr/en/ and any dispute arising out of such use is subject to the laws of France. The competent courts of Paris shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
